On the evening of June 29, the awarding ceremony of the Global Design Competition for the "Goddess of Love" was held at Ngoc Lan Hotel (Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Da Lat City) organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Design Association and TTC Group.
The competition kicked off from March 7 to find a new symbol for the Valley of Love - the most famous tourist destination in Da Lat.
The six impressive designs that made it to the finals include: "The goddess of love" by Dinh Van Loc, "The gift of love" by Nguyen Tran Hoang Nam, "Goddess of a thousand years of flowers" by Pham Tan Vu, "Goddess of love - K'ho Spirit" by Nguyen Ngan Giang, "Divine embodiment goddess" by Vlad Buni (USA), and "Light of love" by Liaojian (China).
Sharing at the event, Mr. Pham Tan Vu - one of the six award winners - said he was very proud to have the opportunity to contribute a small part to promoting tourism in the country and to bring a new work of art to the dreamy city.
Mr. Ho Tan Duong - Chairman of Vietnam Design Association, HCMC (VDAS) - commented that the entries in the competition demonstrated diversity in creativity, cultural harmony, uniqueness, and boldness in design ideas.
"We expect the “Goddess of Love” statue will become an unmissable check-in destination for tourists whenever they come to the dreamy city," said Mr. Duong.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dang Van Thanh - Chairman of TTC Group, Chairman of the Jury - expressed his desire to turn Da Lat into a famous tourist destination. "To do that, Da Lat needs impressive highlights," Thanh said.
"Hopefully, the statue “Goddess of Love” after being completed can be comparable to the Goddess of Beauty of Japan or the Goddess of Liberty of the United States, etc. even taller than the Statue of Liberty if the space in the Valley of Love allows.", Mr. Thanh said.
Mr. Dang Van Thanh - Chairman of TTC Group, Chairman of the Jury - said that the award ceremony of the Global Monument Design Competition "Goddess of Love" on this occasion only announced the 6 creative award winners instead of 1 special award and 5 creative awards as originally structured to give contestants more time to invest and adjust their works to meet the competition requirements.
According to Mr. Dang Van Thanh, the owners of the top 6 creative designs will be supported by the Jury, the Advisory Council, and the organizers to complete their works perfectly, contributing to creating more unique wonders with Vietnamese characteristics on the world tourism map.
