Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, stated at a press conference on the information of the National Tourism Year Dien Bien 2024.

Famous worldwide for the glorious victory of Dien Bien Phu, Dien Bien today presents a peaceful beauty amidst the mountains and forests of the Northwest. Speaking at the press conference on February 21st, Mr. Vu A Bang mentioned that the province is the only one in the Northwest region with air routes connecting to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which is an advantage for Dien Bien to develop tourism.

"During the Cultural and Tourism Week of Dien Bien at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Ho Chi Minh City, we observed the strong interest of people from the Southeast and Ho Chi Minh City in exploring the culture and tourism of Dien Bien. This is an opportunity for Dien Bien to develop better policies to stimulate demand and attract more tourists," shared Mr. Bang.

The highlight of the National Tourism Year Dien Bien 2024 is the opening ceremony, associated with the 2024 Ban Flower Festival, with the theme "Returning to the Land of Ban Flowers" to be held on March 16th at the 7-5 Square, Dien Bien Phu City.

During this time, tourists will have the opportunity to admire the blooming ban flowers amidst the mountains, explore the distinctive cultures of the ethnic groups in Dien Bien, and participate in Thai dance performances and Hmong flute art festivals.
