The signing of the Vietnam-European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) brings opportunities for Vietnamese craft villages to develop traditional handicrafts. Agreeing with Mr. Le Duy Dan, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh of the National Office of Intellectual Property said that it is necessary to raise awareness and understanding of enterprises and craft villages about commitments under EVFTA to enforce and apply. effective use in the production and business process; make the best use of opportunities for development and improvement of competitiveness in domestic and international markets.
According to Mr. Binh, in order to effectively exploit the European market, take advantage of the market opening opportunities that EVFTA offers, businesses and craft villages need to be more proactive and active in understanding the regulation of European trade practices to ensure that products pass those standards to enter the European market. At the same time, businesses need to constantly innovate, improve their internal technology capacity and the ability to absorb new and advanced technologies to improve product quality.

The agreement is considered to create great opportunities for craft village enterprises with export products. Many businesses in Hanoi craft villages have prepared themselves to welcome opportunities and resolve challenges in the integration process.
In addition, Ms. Vinh said, for the craft village area, handicraft products in general and handicraft products in particular, these items are all eligible for immediate tax exemption. This helps the craft village promote production and business activities and export products to the EU market without restrictions in terms of tariffs and quantity. This will be a launch pad to help craft village products of the country in general and Hanoi in particular to penetrate other markets. In addition, foreign importers will look to countries that produce more handicrafts.
