According to Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2015 – 2016, the total square of cane of province is just 10,000 ha, fall over 7,000 ha (decreased 40%) to the last year.
There are many reasons lead to sugar cane area downfall, mainly because of insect disease, the price falling, while the cost is increasing. All that reasons make the farmer getting loss.
However, if the sugar cane is taken care in a good condition, it will produce high yield, high sugar content, help to reducing cost, etc. Therefore, plan sugar cane can make profit. Importantly, the cane needs enough water.
Water accounts for 70% of cane. However, farmers still depend on raining water for canes, few of canes are watered regularly based on growth cycle of cane.
Facing many material areas lacking of water in the dried season, especially in many old ways inhabitants are watering wasted the limited source. Thanh Thanh Cong Tay Ninh Sugar Cane JSC applied many solutions, favor policies for farmers to reducing wasting of watering method.
