The 11th International Food Festival took place on 10.12 in the Van Phuc Diplomatic Corps area of Hanoi. Coming to the Festival, the inhabitants of the capital can live in an extremely vibrant atmosphere and have the opportunity to explore the culinary culture not only of Vietnam but also of many countries of the world.

As an annual event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Food Festival has become a leading cultural, culinary and charitable exchange destination in Hanoi. The highlight of this year’s event is the largest number of stands ever recorded: nearly 150 stands of embassies, foreign cultural centers, foreign departments representing the provinces, enterprises and units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mrs Vu Thi Bich Ngoc, wife of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, said that the festival was organized with the desire for countries to exchange cultures, to strengthen mutual understanding, to introduce the country and the Vietnamese people to friends of other countries through important bridges such as embassies and foreign cultural centers.


At the opening ceremony, delegates presented certificates of gratitude to the ambassadors and units present at this year’s Festival.

Event activities include: Presentation of typical cuisines of Vietnam and other countries; cultural and artistic exchanges; display and sale of local specialties; Charity fundraising.

At this year’s festival, many Vietnamese pavilions also participated, presenting visitors with many unique quintessences of Vietnamese cuisine.

In particular, it is indispensable for Pho – a traditional Vietnamese dish. It is a dish that has won the hearts of many guests in the country and around the world.


In addition, the banh khot – the name mentioned countless times on the culinary map of the city of Vung Tau in particular and of southern cuisine in general, also participated in this festival to introduce it to international friends.

Rendang is a spicy dish from the Minangkabau ethnic group in western Sumatra, Indonesia, which is now widely served throughout the country. This braised meat dish with coconut juice topped «World’s Best Food» dishes.

This year’s Sharing volunteer group also participated in the festival for charitable purposes, the proceeds of which were used to help the poor in mountainous and remote areas.




Also unique at this year’s festival, Urban People Magazine recorded for the first time a booth to exhibit and sell its flagship publications published over the past 10 years (selected in 10 sets, each set of 20 sheets). The proceeds will be donated to charity.
