The complicated happenings of drought situation and salt intrusion on the wide range of area affected significantly to cultivation area generally and sugarcane industry specifically as well.
The Industry and Trade news noted opinion from Mr. Pham Hong Duong about this problem, chairman of Board of Manager of Thanh Thanh Cong sugarcane JSC (TTCS).
Drought and salt intrusion on the wide range of area affected to sugarcane yield in 2015 – 2016, decreasing about 10% compared to the same period last year. Currently, in general, sugarcane factories in Vietnam increased sugarcane buying price significantly to support the cane growers.
To TTCS and sugarcane enterprises belong to TTC Group, we positively approach the deep plowing and apply flexibly the irrigation, such as: enhanced irrigation, efficient irrigation and irrigation to save sugarcane to reduce the effects of lack of water. The yield in season 2016 – 2017 will be stable, projecting sugarcane yield is higher than this season about 5%.
Until now, we can confirm, besides industry channels, the consumer channels, such as: Supermarket, store or market did not suffer from the sugar shortage situation. Previously, there were some information about lack of sugar or people have to buy the sugar at the high price, we affirm that the sugar retail price in supermarket, store channels remain unchanged from last year to now.
