Blood is a special medicine for which there is currently no substitute. The voluntary blood donation movement in Vietnam was formed and developed in the 1990s of the 20th century. Especially, since the Prime Minister decided to establish the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation on February 23, 2008, the voluntary blood donation nationwide has been progressively stable. The noble actions of voluntary blood donors contributed to empowering millions of patients every year, nurturing life, lighting up hope, and promoting goodness in the community and society.

Mr. Tran Tien Cong, who has AB Rh- blood type (the rarest blood type in Vietnam), registered to participate upon learning about the program. In our country, Rh-blood type accounts for a very small percentage, about 0.04% - 0.07% of the population.
