Nowaday, Auchan is a competitor of the big corporation, such as: Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Lotte, Metro, Big C etc.
In Vietnam, Auchan has integrated this market since last year in the North, partnership with a company under Ministry of National Defence to do the first activities in Vietnam.
In April 2015, when working with Ministry of Investment and Planning, Mr. Philippe Longuet, CEO of Auchan announced the “return” of this group. Revealing Auchan will make the plan realisticly when bring USD 500 million into Vietnam market in 10 years.
In the North market, to serve ambitious plan of it, this big corporation has a wise step, when represent all commercial jobs of big real estate corporation (Sacomreal), currently, this corporation owns about 40 big real estate projects cover majority of HCM city and nearby areas. With this partnership, in 2017 plan, Auchan will open more 15 suppermakets in HCM city, each supermarket scale has 2,000 to 3,000 square metters, with total investment equity about Euro 35 to 40 million
