TTC & ED&F Man partner in organic sugar distribution

Vietnamese sugar producer strikes strategic cooperation deal to distribute organic sugar overseas.

The TTC Attapeu Sugar Cane Sole Company, a member of the Thanh Thanh Cong Bien Hoa JSC (TTC Sugar), on October 26 signed a strategic partnership with the UK-based agricultural corporation ED&F Man Sugar on the supply and consumption of organic sugar produced in Laos and exporting TTC Sugar’s products to European markets in fiscal year 2018-2019.

The two signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on supplying and consuming products such as Organic Golden Cane Sugar and Golden Cane Sugar in the next five years.

Organic Golden Cane Sugar is produced by TTC Attapeu following organic standards from planting to processing. It uses no GMO (genetically modified organisms), chemical fertilizers, chemical pest control, bleaching powder, or other chemicals, and it is made under ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, FSSC, Halal, and Kosher standards. The packaging is made from environmentally-friendly materials.

It also has Control Union certification, meeting USDA and EU standards, and is qualified for export to potential but difficult markets such as North America and elsewhere.

In cooperating with ED&F Man Sugar, Organic Golden Cane Sugar will now be exported to Europe. Its unique selling point is 100 per cent pure sugarcane, using modern crystallization methods with no artificial colors or odors, retaining the natural flavor.

One of the main orientations of TTC Attapeu and TTC Sugar in general is developing organic agriculture, producing high-quality products and creating high added value in “green - clean - sustainable development”.

With cooperation based on respect and promoting the advantages of each other, together with the common goal of community health and environmentally-friendliness, and following the trend of clean and green, the partnership between TTC Attapeu and ED&F Man Sugar is expected to successfully send Vietnamese brands to European customers.

ED&F Man Sugar was established in 1783 in the UK and specializes in the supply, transportation and distribution of agricultural products including coffee, sugar, molasses, beans and grains. With over 7,000 employees and an extensive distribution system, it supplies 11 million bags of coffee, 11 million tons of sugar, and 6 million tons of animal feed annually. Its products serve more than 15,000 corporate customers from more than 14,000 suppliers.
