The Tet holiday of the Year of the Tiger has optimistic signs showing strong development in both domestic and international tourism markets in 2024. Tourism businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have also welcomed a large number of tourists registering for tours during the Tet holiday and the first quarter of 2024.
According to leading travel companies, due to the long Tet holiday of the Year of the Tiger in 2024, the number of tourists during this period has increased significantly compared to the New Year holiday of this year in most tour itineraries. The preferred destinations for this Tet holiday include Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Da Nang, and the northern region.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Man, Director of Communications - Marketing at TSTtourist Company, the total number of individual tourists, family groups, and small and medium-sized enterprises from late January 2023 to the end of March 2024 shows a rapid growth rate compared to the same period in 2023.
"With over 2,000 registered and departing guests, at the current stage, on various tour routes, the trend of package tours for the summer of 2024 shows promising signs, in line with the expectations of businesses," Man said.
In particular, the trend of choosing high-quality services, traveling in family groups of 6 to over 10 people, will play a key role. In addition, the trend of corporate group tours will also grow, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
To be ready to serve tourists, businesses always update and grasp the trends of tourism. A series of tours from Asia to Europe in the post-Tet period are being offered for sale, such as the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan (China), and the United States. Currently, these tours have attracted many interested and registered guests.
According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City during the Tet holiday of 2024 are estimated to reach about 75,000, an increase of 15.4% compared to the same period in 2023 (65,000).
Tourists at tourist areas, entertainment destinations, and services are estimated to reach about 1,800,000, an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period in 2023 (1,700,000). Revenue is estimated to reach about 6,550 billion VND, an increase of 4% compared to the same period in 2023 (6,300 billion VND).
