This year's contest attracted 327 athletes from 42 delegations from the following provinces: Lam Dong; Dong Nai; Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Thuan. The contest is divided into 3 systems: movement system, provincial selection system and expansion system, competing in 2 distances of 6,300 m, slope from 40 - 65 degrees (4,000 m running, 2,300 m climbing) for men and 5,300 m (3,000 m running, 2,300 m climbing) for women. The starting point is from Ham Thuan Nam District Monument and the destination is in front of Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda.
This year's contest was held in association with the achievement of celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2023) and celebrating the Lunar New Year, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. At the end of the contest, the titles of King of Mountaineering and Queen of Ta Cu Mountaineering were found in all 3 systems. Specifically, the opening system of the male first prize is athlete Pham Ngoc Phan (Binh Thuan), the female first prize is athlete Khuat Phuong Anh (Dong Nai). In the provincial recruitment system, the male first prize is athlete Phan Van Thau (Ham Thuan Bac), the female first prize is athlete Vuong Thi Hien (Ham Thuan Nam). In the movement system, the first prize belongs to athlete Pham Thanh Binh (Muong Man commune).
