(DTCK) Despite some bright spots, brokers still need to exert more effort to adapt to the new development stage of the market in the coming time.

This is the sharing of Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Real Estate Brokers Association (VARS) at the early 2024 Executive Committee Conference held on February 21.

According to Mr. Dinh, 2023 was a challenging year for the real estate market in general, and the real estate brokerage community in particular, with a trend of downsizing and dissolution occurring among many distribution platforms. By the end of 2023, the number of active real estate brokers had decreased by two-thirds compared to the market peak.

However, this is also a process of filtering out unprofessional and less competent brokers, thereby building a better and more professional brokerage platform that meets more practical needs, especially as new regulations come into effect, forcing brokers and distribution platforms to significantly elevate their standards.

Mr. Dinh further stated that since late 2023, the market has shown more positive signs after a series of efforts and solutions from the Government. This is a basis for confidence that the market will have brighter prospects in 2024, thereby revitalizing brokerage activities.

Nevertheless, corporate internal restructuring needs to be more resolute, with the implementation of smart strategies aligned with market trends and government policies. In particular, restructuring products, focusing on feasible projects that meet both the needs and financial capabilities of the people, is essential.

In addition, Mr. Dinh suggested that distribution units further study attractive incentive policies for both customers/investors and real estate brokers.

"It is necessary to clearly define contributing to market promotion as the main goal, and then determine profit goals," Mr. Dinh emphasized.

Regarding the operational direction of the Association in 2024, Mr. Dinh mentioned five focal points:

Firstly, completing the organization, developing membership, adjusting, and assigning tasks.

Secondly, continuing to contribute opinions on amending and supplementing the Land Law, Housing Law, Real Estate Business Law, and related laws to develop the housing sector and ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable real estate market.

Thirdly, developing market research teams to provide comprehensive, accurate information and analysis to timely detect issues and advise on the real estate market situation.

Fourthly, strengthening connections among members, real estate organizations, local authorities, and central government agencies to develop the real estate market.

Fifthly, organizing more networking programs between the Association and its members.
