Announcement of businesses entering the final round of Listed Enterprise Voting 2023

After nearly 6 months of initial screening and scrutiny by the Big 4, the Organizing Committee of the 2023 Listed Company Vote officially announced the list of companies that qualified for the final round.

Annual Report Category

For the annual report category, in 2023, the rating of listed companies registered to participate and companies divided into 2 groups of financial and non-financial industries, instead of ranking by capitalization group as in previous years.

This year, 116 companies with the best annual reports were elected to the final phase. In which, there are 24 companies in the financial industries group and 92 companies in the non-financial industries group.

An independent third party carries out the assessment of the annual report in the preliminary round, the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD). The initial results are then reviewed by four major auditing firms (Big 4): Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PwC, to ensure the accuracy, objectivity, and depth of the selection. Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) are reviewing the results one final time before publication.

The working process of the parties involved in the preliminary scoring is very stringent; the content of the annual reports is detailed for independent scoring, followed by direct exchange to reach a consensus on the scoring content in reports with score discrepancies. Audit firms cross-check the rating results to ensure objectivity.

Corporate Governance Reporting Category

104 companies with the best corporate governance were selected for the final round, ranked by market capitalization. This includes 34 companies in the large-market capitalization group, 34 companies in the medium-market capitalization group, and 36 companies in the small-market capitalization group.

Sustainability Reporting Category:

Companies with their own sustainable development reports and those with high scores on environmental and social content in the finalist annual report would be considered by the selection committee to score the sustainability report in the final stage. This report will be graded by experts from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

This year, the organizing committee maintained the dotted criteria linked to reducing greenhouse gases. This forms the basis for selecting the award for companies effectively managing greenhouse gas emissions, encouraging listed companies to enhance awareness and concern for environmental issues and the impact of climate change.
