
Strategy for renewable energy of Vietnam plans to reduce 25% of Greenhouse gas emissions by 2020.
The green and renewable energy requires large capital, strategic investment in long-term and high technical, hence it is not easy to develop in this field. However, Mr. Le Anh Khang – CEO of Gia Lai Electricity JSC – firmly place the company's focus on this sector.
The company has been attractive a large number of foreign investment capital, through the cooperation with The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Armstrong Asset Management – Singapore.
Bringing the Clean energy to fields
Currently, TTC has cooperates with sugarcane’s farmers in installing the solarpower for irrigation system in total area of 49,000 hectares, averagely 3 hectares/ system for 25 systems. This helps the farmers in saving costs, protecting environment, ensuring the sustainable development of economy and social security.
Encouraging green energy to hospitality and real estate
GEC has installed the solarpower system in some TTC’s hospitality places such as Ben Tre Floating restaurant, TTC Hotel Premium – Can Tho, ect. and plans to continuously expand the installation through TTC Hospitality field like TTC Premium – Nha Trang, TTC Palace Binih Thuan, Thanh Binh Hotel 2. Hence, TTC Hospitality sector can save energy cost monthly, leading increasing profit as well as promoting TTC Hospitality’s brands.
For the Real Estate, GEC has installed the roof solarpower that follows the concept of green – clean living environment trend loved by many customers. Jamona Golden Silk of Sacomreal will be install in the third quarter of 2016. The residents living there enjoy life with fully services as well as use the clean and eco-friendly with environment and nature. In the near future, GEC will continue to cooperate with Sacomreal in installing more real estate projects, specially house, villa, ect. leading bringing the sustainable life’s values for people.
The ability of TTC in general and of GEC in specific reaches the conditions to extend the business in renewable energy, that is not only in the hydropower but also welcome the early trend in solarpower and windpower. GEC proactively installed the solarpwer system for 21 TTC’s member companies, then has expanded to other provinces such as Ben Tra, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan and others in Middle, Highland with total capacity of over 30MW by 2020.
