Currently, Vietnam built many factories, approaching international manufacture level, supply is beyond demand. However, there are still many difficulties, existences in inevitable integration requirement which are the road map that Vietnam commited.
According to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, to support sugarcane industry, there are many sollutions applied, firstly, reorganize the productivity, sugarcane material quality. The currently problem to sugarcane industry is focused mostly in increasing productivities. To enhance competitiveness the key component is to make the Vietnam sugar price equal with global standard.
In harvesting year 2014 – 2015, total area of cane growing in country achieved 305,000 hectare, with the average of cane productivity of country is 65.3 million ton. Total cane yield achieved 20 million ton as same as last year. Pressed cane yield to manufacture achieved 1.6 million ton. But currently, the most existence that cane industry is facing is material cost increasing dramatically, manufacture industry still doesn’t meet the requirements, the relationship between manufacture and consumption has been not yet taken much attention to create the connection firmly. Moreover, some enteprises have signed contracts with dealer, the rest relies on the market demand.
According to fully opening market commit with almost good categories, in there, sugar is the latest when in 2018, importing sugar of Vietnam from ASEAN countries is unlimited of quantity and the import tariff commited in line with ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) 5%. This is considered a “playing place” required the sugar industry has a comprehensive preparation and big willing to enhance quality, reduce the cost to compete more sustainable in integration
