The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tay Ninh province said that in November 2023, Tay Ninh had a lot of rain, causing local flooding, and some plants had difficulty in sowing seeds. However, the planted area in the province is still maintained.
The Department also said that product consumption is stable, prices of some main products such as rice, wheat, sugarcane, and vegetables of all types have increased; In particular, the sharp increase in rice prices helps growers continue to invest.
Specifically about rice, the total planted area is estimated at 146,438 hectares, an increase of 0.15% over the same period, of which the winter-spring crop is 47,685 hectares, an increase of 0.32% (+154 hectares); Summer-autumn crop is 50,063 hectares, an increase of 1.03% (+510 hectares); Crop progress Season 48,736 hectares.
As of November this year, the entire Tay Ninh province planted 5,136 hectares, an increase of 0.44% (+23 hectares) over the same period. Peanuts are planted on 2,898 hectares. The area of vegetables, beans, flowers, and ornamental plants in the whole province was planted at 24,044 hectares, an increase of 2.33% over the same period (+544 hectares). Of which, vegetables of all kinds are 21,778 hectares, an increase of 3.19% (+654 hectares); beans of all kinds are 2,866 hectares, down 3.58% (-106 hectares) over the same period. Although the weather in the first months of the year had unseasonal rain, affecting most vegetables, the harvest speed was fast, prices increased and stabilized, and people in districts, towns, and cities increased their income. Intensifying seeding, especially in Chau Thanh district, has increased the area of all kinds of vegetables.
Sugarcane: by November 7,175 hectares were planted, an increase of 14.70% over the same period (+920 hectares). Currently, TTC AgriS Company has policies to support and encourage people to apply mechanization, improve sugarcane varieties and farming processes to improve productivity, quality, reduce sugarcane production costs... The increase in raw sugarcane over the same period has caused the sugarcane area to be maintained and increase over the same period, especially increasing sharply in Tan Bien district (+900 hectares).
