Can Tho University has recently announced its projected enrollment targets and admission methods for the academic year 2024. This is the first time the university has organized an entrance examination (V-SAT exam) alongside six other admission methods.

Prospective students can apply through multiple admission methods. Method 1 is direct admission with priority; method 2 is admission based on high school graduation exam scores in 2024; method 3 is admission based on high school academic records; method 4 is admission to pedagogy majors based on high school academic records; method 5 is admission based on the V-SAT exam; method 6 is selection for advanced and high-quality programs; and method 7 is direct admission to knowledge enrichment programs.

According to the announcement, the university's projected enrollment target for the new academic year is 10,060, an increase from the enrollment target in 2023. The university offers 109 undergraduate programs, including 89 regular programs, 2 advanced programs, and 13 high-quality programs.

Of particular note are the introduction of 8 new majors: Information Systems (high-quality program), Early Childhood Education, Natural Science Education, Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering (semiconductor chip design), Biomedical Engineering, Journalism, and Tourism. In 2024, the university plans to enroll students in the Journalism major.

According to the university's guidelines, a candidate has the right to apply for admission through multiple methods, with each method requiring separate application documents. Each method has different conditions and target groups, so the university evaluates each method independently. Admission through one method does not affect admission through another method. The admission cutoff score for one method is not the same as for another method.

Candidates must register their preferences for qualified admissions through the admissions portal as per the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, to avoid duplication with other methods. For methods 3, 4, and 5, the university will announce admission results early for candidates who meet the admission criteria. If a method has multiple admission rounds, the admission cutoff score for subsequent rounds will not be lower than that of previous rounds.

The entrance examination consists of 7 subjects: Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography. Each subject will be tested independently via computer-based multiple-choice exams. All majors are eligible for admission (except for teacher training majors, Literature, and Journalism).

The registration period is expected to be from May 20 to June 15. Candidates can register and view detailed instructions on the university's website at https://www.ctu.edu.vn.
