In the list of candidates qualified for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025, considered by the State Council of Professors in its latest meeting, there are many university presidents.
Recently, after the 4th meeting of the State Council of Professors, 900 candidates received enough votes of confidence to be approved for the titles of professor (71) and associate professor (829), a reduction of 11 candidates compared to the list previously proposed by the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary.
The list shows that the youngest professor candidate is Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quoc Trung (39 years old), currently Deputy Director of Campus II of Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City.
For the title of associate professor, the two youngest candidates (both 33 years old) are Dr. Do Quang Loc (lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh (chief researcher at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology).
This year, among the 900 qualified candidates, many candidates are currently university presidents.
It is known that after 15 days from the date the State Council of Professors approves the list, there will be a decision to recognize the qualifications for the titles of professor and associate professor for the candidates.
The four principals approved for the title of professor are all in the field of economics.
Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi is the Principal of the School of Business Administration, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (majoring in economics). Mr. Phi has published 44 scientific articles, including 9 scientific articles in prestigious international journals. In particular, he has been granted 10 patents and utility solutions. Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Van Loi, is currently the Principal of the School of Business, National Economics University (majoring in economics). Associate Professor, Dr. Loi researches the international business environment and international economic integration; education and training in economic-related fields... He has published 86 scientific articles, including 20 articles in prestigious international journals in the ISI/Scopus category; has been granted 2 exclusive patents and utility solutions.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Principal of Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, was approved for the title of professor (major in economics). Mr. Trung's main research directions include economic analysis and macroeconomic policy; commercial banking operations; behavioral theory, financial management, human resources... Mr. Trung has guided 9 doctoral students to successfully defend their doctoral theses, published 91 scientific articles, including 18 in prestigious international journals, and published 12 books.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Huy is Principal of the University of Economics, University of Danang (major in economics). Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Huy focuses on researching technology interaction behavior and digital marketing; sustainable marketing. He has published 88 scientific articles, including 19 in prestigious international journals.
The principals were approved for the title of associate professor.
Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (Economics), was approved for the title of Associate Professor. Dr. Hai's main research interests include credit - banking, financial management; behavior focusing on psychological and social factors affecting decisions in economics, technology and services. Dr. Tran Trong Dao is Rector of Ton Duc Thang University (Electrical-Electronics-Automation). Mr. Dao is the youngest candidate for Associate Professor (44 years old) among the rectorates this year. His main research interests include power system optimization and sustainable energy use; control of technical systems; renewable energy and its applications. Dr. Tran Trong Dao has published 32 scientific articles, of which 16 are in prestigious international journals.
Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc is the Principal of Hanoi University of Industry (major in Electrical-Electronics-Automation). In recent years, Dr. Thuc has focused on research directions including developing solutions to improve performance for wireless communication systems; designing high-performance hardware (electronic circuit design, IC design for IoT applications in particular, electronic - telecommunication systems in general). He has published 39 scientific articles, of which 22 are in prestigious international journals.
Dr. Le Thi Thuy is the Principal of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy (major in Medicine).
