On November 1st, in Hanoi, the British Embassy in Vietnam, in collaboration with Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held a training program on operating energy systems in the context of increasing renewable energy.
The program was organized within the framework of the cooperation between EVN and the British Embassy in Vietnam to enhance capabilities toward a fair energy transition. The program's speakers are experts from the UK's Office for Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) and the National Grid. Trainees participating in the training were EVN personnel and units working in the field of system operation management, electricity market, organization, legal, etc.
Taking place over two days (November 1st – 2nd), the training program focused on improving staff capabilities, establishing the organizational structure and skills needed to achieve the net-zero target; establishment of the Future System Operator (FSO) unit, and the privatization process in the UK; cross-border electricity grids in Europe; the operating system of the Gas and Electricity Market Office of the United Kingdom; investment in offshore wind power grids in Europe, etc.
The program also provided an opportunity for experts from the UK's Office for Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) to speak directly with EVN staff, thereby enhancing the interaction and effectiveness of training; and strengthening ties between British and Vietnamese electricity professionals.

Efficient operation of the plant in the context of the increase in renewable energy
According to EVN Deputy Director General Vo Quang Lam, the training program on power system operation in the context of increasing renewable energy for EVN, organized by the British Embassy, is considered timely and useful in the context of the increase in renewable energy in Vietnam's power system today
EVN leaders highly appreciated the content of the training program and asked the trainees to seriously absorb all the information from the experts, ask many questions, make the most of the knowledge and experience of the speakers, and study the proposals for application in Vietnam.
