60% of EVN's total rooftop solar PV capacity comes from the south

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) stated that the solar power development capacity in the south currently accounts for over 60% of the group's total rooftop solar power capacity (1,142 MWp).

In September, the electricity output customers generated on the grid reached 55.3 million kWh, the cumulative amount from the beginning of the year to now is 250.7 million kWh. At the same time, in the first 9 months of 2020, EVNSPC paid VND 360 billion to customers with corresponding output of 171.6 million kWh.

Notably, many EVNSPC member companies have exceeded 100% of the assigned plan, including: Ca Mau (101%), An Giang (117%), Long An (118%), Dong Thap. (118%), Hau Giang (123%), Bac Lieu (124%), Lam Dong (132%), Binh Duong (186%), Binh Phuoc (255%).

Recently, the Prime Minister has approved the policy of adding solar and wind power planning. The southern region has natural advantages with relatively high solar radiation intensity compared to the national average for solar power development, this is a great opportunity that has attracted investors.

Especially, regardless of rainy and windy days, the solar energy source in the area from Ninh Thuan to come in is very good and distributed relatively in harmony. Therefore, Vietnam has great potential for solar energy with an average of 1,600 - 2,700 hours of sunshine a year and an average radiation of 4-5 kWh / kWp per day. Thanks to that, over the past time, the southern region has seen strong developments in rooftop solar PV installations.

For households, EVNSPC supports customers to participate in rooftop solar PV installations such as introducing safe and good technology for investors to refer to and choose effectively. In addition, EVNSPC also focuses on offices, offices, schools, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, shopping centers, factories, where it is possible to install rooftop solar power systems. future.
