Fossil energy sources such as coal, oil, and gas are the energy sources that account for a large proportion of the power industry in Dak Nong. However, these energy sources are gradually depleting over time, facing great challenges in providing fuel sources for power plants.

Dak Nong has potential benefits about renewable energy sources
Therefore, with the growth of electricity demand of about 10% per year, it is very urgent to promote research and use of renewable energy sources, especially wind energy and solar energy. for Vietnam in general and Dak Nong province in particular.
Recently, many wind power projects have been approved by the People's Committee of Dak Nong province for investment. Specifically, such as Dak N'Drung 1, Dak N'Drung 2, Dak N'Drung 3 wind power electric factories with a total capacity of 300 MW, Asian Dak Song 1 wind power plants with a capacity of 50 MW, and Dak wind power plants. Mix with a capacity of 50 MW and Nam Binh 1 Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 30 MW. The total estimated investment of the six projects mentioned above is up to nearly 15,000 billion VND.
In addition, Dak Nong has two solar power projects such as Cu Jut solar power electric factory (Ea T'Ling Town, Cu Jut District) with capacity of 62 MWp, Truc Son (Truc Son Commune, Cu Jut District) with capacity of 44,4 MWp.
There are three projects that are listed in the list of solar power electric factories by the Government with a total capacity of over 400 MWp. Those are Xuyen Ha solar power electric factory (Duc Xuyen Commune, Krong No District), Ea T’ling solar power electric factory (Cu Jut District), Cư K’nia solar power electric factory (Cu Jut District).
According to the Master Plan of Dak Nong province in the period of 2021-2030, Dak Nong should continuously invest, upgrade energy industry, specially develope, exploit maximum capacity of wind power, solar power. Moreover, electric factories have to use modern technology towards green growth, environmental protection.
