As a locality with potential advantages for the development of renewable energy, Ninh Thuan has attracted investment in the development of numerous energy projects and considers this as one of the priority sectors for development, aiming to build Ninh Thuan into a renewable energy center and clean energy across the country.

Ninh Thuan is located in the South Central Coastal region, with a favorable location at the intersection of three strategic transportation axes, serving as the gateway linking the key economic region of the Southeast with the Central Highlands and South Central region.
Ninh Thuan has abundant potential and space to attract investment and develop multiple RE projects to become the center of RE for the whole country. It is also one of the localities with very significant advantages in the development of RE, with an average wind speed of 7. m/s (higher than the national average) and consistent wind throughout 10 months. The highest sunshine duration in the country ranges from 2,500-3,100 hours/year.
With these inherent advantages, Ninh Thuan Province has identified renewable energy as the key economic sector. The Provincial People's has approved the investment intention/certification for 63 energy projects with a total capacity of 3,630 MW and a total investment capital of over 100 trillion VND.
In addition to the development of renewable energy, in recent years Ninh Thuan has contributed to job creation for approximately 6,000 laborers in the province and generated substantial revenue for the provincial budget. Currently, the share of the energy sector accounts for 22.3% of GRDP and 61.8% in the industry-construction sector of the province.

According to Comrade Pham Van Hau: The 14th Provincial Party Congress of Ninh Thuan, 2020-2025 tenure, has set ambitious vision and goals for 2025 as the province's development reaches the level of average for the region the country; by 2030, becoming a province with an average high-income level in the country. By 2045, into a comprehensive, high-income province, Ninh Thuan has determined to focus on developing 5 important clusters and sectors.
