The project of Trina Solar Cell Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) has a scale of producing monocrystalline silicon bars of 11,570 tons per year and monocrystalline silicon sheets of 555 million products per year, with a total investment capital of about 11,067 billion VND, equivalent to 454 million USD.
Representatives of the leadership of Thai Nguyen province handed over the investment registration certificate to the representative of Trina Solar Cell Company Limited.
The Management Board of Thai Nguyen Industrial Parks organized the issuance of Investment Registration Certificate for the Trina Solar Cell Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) project, a subsidiary of Trina Solar Group - a leading group in the solar energy sector of China, in Yen Binh Industrial Park, Pho Yen City.
Accordingly, the Trina Solar Cell Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) project will be implemented in Plot CN-16, Yen Binh Industrial Park, Hong Tien Ward, Pho Yen City, with an area of 141,232.89 square meters.
The project has a scale of producing monocrystalline silicon bars of 11,570 tons per year and monocrystalline silicon sheets of 555 million products per year; producing photovoltaic cells (solar panels) of 560 million sheets per year. The total investment capital is about 11,067 billion VND, equivalent to 454 million USD.
According to the plan, the project will be commenced in May 2024; completed and put into operation from March 2025. After the completion of this project, the total value of Trina Solar Group's goods output in Thai Nguyen is expected to reach from 2.7 to 2.8 billion USD per year; creating employment for over 4,300 workers.
This is the third project of Trina Solar Group implemented in the province, raising the total investment capital of this enterprise in Thai Nguyen to 932 million USD.
Two projects of Trina Solar Group are operating stably in Yen Binh Industrial Park.
Before that, Trina Solar had implemented 2 projects in Yen Binh Industrial Park with a total registered investment capital of 478 million USD, including: Project of producing photovoltaic cells (solar panels), solar energy module sheets (investment capital of 203 million USD) and Project of producing monocrystalline silicon bars and sheets (investment capital of 275 million USD).
Both projects are produced using advanced technology, environmentally friendly, suitable for the province's investment attraction orientation. Currently, both projects are operating stably, achieving a revenue of nearly 1.2 billion USD in 2023; creating stable employment for about 1,400 workers, of which 90% are Vietnamese workers.
Trina Solar Group was established in 1997, mainly operating in research, development, production, and trading of solar energy modules, solar power plants, and related system products as well as operation, maintenance services.
