The purchased price of solar power in the Northern provinces is expected to be 10.87 US cent/kWh, the highest price in the country
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just announced the draft of the mechanism encouraging the development of solar power projects in Vietnam to get comments from relevant Ministries, Branches and Units.
According to the new draft of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the price of solar power will be calculated based on the area’s radiation and different types of power projects. The Ministry of Industry and Trade also divided to 04 radiation regions across the country, including Region I (28 provinces and cities which are mainly from the Northern mountainous provinces, Red River Delta,North Central Region to Quang Binh), Region II (6 provinces and cities which are from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and Dien Bien), Region III (23 provinces and cities) and Region IV (6 provinces which are Phu Yen, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan)
The highest purchased price of solar electricity is in the Northern provinces
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade gave 04 types of solar power production to calculate the purchased price such as floating solar power projects, solar power projects on the ground, solar power projects integrated storage and rooftop projects.
The highest purchased price is 10.87 US cent/kWh, applied to the rooftop projects in Region I.
Region IV has the lowest purchased price applied to the solar power projects on the ground that is 6.67 US Cent/kWh.
The Draft is expected to be comprehensive and submitted to the Prime Minister for signing and applying after June 2016
