On March 4th, at the Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Park Joint Stock Company (Trang Bang town), a delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Mr. Yeth Vi Nel - Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, had a tour, survey, and exchange of views on local economic development projects.

The delegation visited ChangYa Plastic Company, located in the Thanh Thanh Công Industrial Park.

 

They met and worked with the Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Duc Trong, and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

The delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Cambodia visited and surveyed the Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Park, wastewater treatment plants, and water supply plants. Both sides discussed the development of industrial parks, local economic development projects, management experience of industrial parks, and enhancing investment cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and Tay Ninh province with neighboring Cambodian provinces in particular.

Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Duc Trong made a statement during the working session.

 

In his speech during the meeting, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Duc Trong stated that Tay Ninh has 6 licensed industrial parks covering a planned total area of 3,491 hectares. These industrial parks have complete basic infrastructure such as road systems, water supply and drainage systems, wastewater treatment plants, electricity systems, and lighting.

Environmental protection work is regularly and effectively carried out; all operational industrial parks have centralized wastewater treatment plants meeting the required standards before discharge into the environment; solid waste and hazardous waste are strictly controlled.

There are 348 registered investment projects in the industrial parks (including 284 foreign-invested projects and 64 domestic projects) with a total registered investment capital of $9,623 million. These investment projects mainly focus on the textile and garment industry, rubber and plastic products, leather and footwear, and metal products. There are 270 active projects providing employment for about 126,000 workers.

The occupancy rate of the industrial parks is 67%; the remaining industrial land area can attract investment of about 330 hectares. Tay Ninh is currently implementing the establishment of the Hiep Thanh Industrial Park with a scale of nearly 500 hectares. In the near future, the province will focus on developing 3 new industrial parks and expanding 1 industrial park, with a total planned area of ​​4,400 hectares.

Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Duc Trong emphasized that this sharing of experience is a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange, understand, and cooperate; it continues to mark a significant step in the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in general and the bordering provinces of Cambodia in particular.

Mr. Yeth Vi Nel, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, stated that the Government attaches great importance to infrastructure investment in transportation to enhance cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam. Mr. Yeth Vi Nel hopes that the meeting will contribute to promoting trade and enhancing good cooperation relations between border provinces.
